But what about the time when you have already done everything you are supposed to? You have prepped up your home for a sale, advertised rigorously in every possible way, and even set the asking price to below market. How comes your house is still not selling?

One of the main reasons why a sale could be slow is the timing. If it is around a festive season, chances of getting a buyer who is offering to buy the house at an offer near the one you listed are few and far between. During the holidays, people are too busy reinforcing the relational ties that bind to find time to go out looking for houses to buy. This is usually an activity reserved for other times in the calendar, when social demands are not as many.

Around the winter, making a sale is really hard. With the weather being in opposition of much movement, homebuyers choose not to face the trouble of moving when the roads are covered in snow. The cold environment makes moving considerably harder, more so the transportation part. Most homebuyers prefer when the weather is more cheerful, like during the seasons of spring and summer. These are usually considered the on-seasons for home buying.

When your home is not selling, you can always postpone the sale to the time when the real estate market looks better. Try learning about the patterns around your area, and see the months which are likely to yield a faster sale. Strategize to station your sale in any of the months. This does bring a new challenge of its own, and that is maintaining the property in good condition before that time. But usually, going through the regular maintenance procedures usually suffices.

There are other options to selling that are usually available when you are not really able to make the sale. But before you redirect your intentions, make sure you explore every possible avenue to make the sale. Talk with some real estate agencies, and see if you can get a seasoned Realtor to help you through.
