| APS to Host an Exhibit at NNEPQIN 2010 Fall MeetingAPS to host an exhibit at the Northern New England Perinatal Quality Improvement Network (NNEPQIN) 2010 Fall Meeting.
APS will host an exhibit that will showcase APS’s online perinatal safety curriculum. The innovative curriculum, consistent with the national standards for perinatal care proposed by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and supported by AWHONN, focuses on clinically rich, interactive, team-oriented training and addresses many of the main drivers of obstetrical claims and adverse outcomes. Courses in APS’s Perinatal Safety Curriculum include Advanced Fetal Assessment and Monitoring, Managing Shoulder Dystocia, Operative Vaginal Delivery, and Postpartum Hemorrhage, as well as a monthly Competency Maintenance series designed to reinforce clinicians’ understanding of key concepts from the core training. Dr. Steven Clark, the Medical Director of Women and Newborn Services at the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), is a lead author for APS’s Postpartum Hemorrhage course as well as select Competency Maintenance modules. Dr. Clark, who also authored a study highlighting the effectiveness of APS education in HCA, will be presenting at the meeting. “APS is delighted to be attending the NNEPQIN Fall Meeting,” stated Dr. Martin November, APS Chief Medical Officer. Dr. November will be at the APS exhibit to field questions from attendees. “Our goal is to demonstrate how we can empower clinicians with cutting edge knowledge that enables them to deliver the highest quality and safest care possible.” For more information about APS, visit http://www.aps- # # # About APS Advanced Practice Strategies, Inc.
