| Spooktacular event a huge successThe drama and suspense of a theatrical spooky party attracted nearly 400 guests at a special event.
Actors playing zombies and ghouls left party goers in no doubt of the scary evening ahead of them when they were greeted in the car-park of the venue in Meriden Road, Fillongley. The 398 fancy dress revellers were also taken on a trip on a ghost train into the venue’s 65 acres of woodland to join in a spooky tale. Melanie Kerkeni, sales and business development manager at Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, said a huge amount of effort and time was spent providing the ultimate Halloween party in the Midlands. “My first reaction when I had parked my car was to lock the doors because a zombie suddenly appeared on my bonnet,” she said. “My heart was racing but once I had calmed down and realised this was all part of the show, I headed for the entrance which was lit by flames. “The room where Spooktacular took place had been totally transformed. The massive amount of time and effort spent planning this over the last few months was definitely worth it when we saw the reaction of our guests “The highlight was definitely the ghost ride into the woods. There was a policeman in the woods with a screaming and crying girl who said she had lost her boyfriend. “We had to try and find her missing boyfriend in the pitch black with only torch lights from our seats on the train which added to the electric atmosphere. “Ghouls and zombies attempted to jump aboard so the whole performance was very well done.” Melanie continued: “The demand was so high that we held three nights instead of the two nights we held in 2009 and we attracted 121 more people this year. “Once again, we were very surprised by the amount of effort that guests had put into their fancy dress. There were some very scary costumes! “A bottle of champagne was awarded to the winner of the best fancy dress each night and it was decided by the guests via a clap-o-meter. “This was definitely the most theatrical and dramatic Spooktacular that we have organised and emphasised our commitment to providing the best Halloween party in the region.” Guest Ian Rushton, who lives in Nuneaton, praised the attention to detail and the suspense of the trek into the woods. “After returning from the woods and once we had finished our meal, the actors dressed as zombies and ghouls started to appear from all angles of the room,” he said. “They went through the dance moves shown in the Michael Jackson Thriller video around the table and on the stage.” To see video clips and photos log on to www.spooktacularlive.co.uk Media enquiries: Michelle Wilson Advent Communications 2 Edison Building Electric Wharf Sandy Lane Coventry CV1 4JA Tel: 024 7663 3636 http://www.advent- # # # Advent Communications is a well-established public relations consultancy based in Coventry.
