New Buzz Words-Tainted Corrosive Drywall-Chinese Drywall-NDE Protocol-Treatment-XRF-Chamber Testing

Jan. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Consumers have been bombarded by the news media, Internet, legal system, and numerous other forms of communications about CDW or TCDW diagnosis, abatement, treatments, certifications, testing, testing equipment, post treatment testing, material testing, personal property testing, and other issues.

Information, opinions, and statements provided today, will be validated and confirmed with clearly documented facts, reports, and information.

Chinese Drywall (CDW) or Tainted and Corrosive Drywall (TCDW) structures require construction abatement activities, performed per specific protocols and treatment systems, eliminating and eradicating not only existing TCDW issues, but also future unknown residual out-gassing issues.

Health issues and future unknown Health issues from TCDW vapor exposure, both long and short term are unknown at this time, and will require extensive future testing for answers.

1)  Diagnosis ... NDE Protocol
    Confirming and validating the structure is infected, by NDE Visual Analysis or
    Inspection, per approved protocols or systems.

    NDE Visual Analysis is the best and most accurate means and method to confirm and
    validate CDW or TCDW structures ... PERIOD !!!

2)  Abatement ... Corrective Re-Work
     Removal of all electrical, copper plumbing, HVAC, HVAC duct work,  insulation, drywall,
     wood trim, wood doors, carpet / pad, cabinets, counter tops, ceiling fans, and other
     wood or porous components, basically stripping the structure back to PRE-ROUGH-IN
     structural metal framing, structural wood framing, concrete masonry block, windows,
     exterior doors and / or other components.

3)  Treatment ... Non-Toxic / Non-Voc product application
     Based on simple facts, not opinions ... at this time ... NO ONE or NO GOVERNMENT
     AGENCY has determined the specific cause(s), with-in the drywall, creating the
     corrosive out-gassing vapors, or even acceptable levels per ASTM Standards
     pertaining to Residential Construction.

    With that thought, I have encouraged and recommended our clients pay for a Treatment
    Application System that neutralizes known out-gassing vapors that permeate or  
    absorb into the remaining construction materials after abatement process. Post
    Treatment ASTM Chamber Testing of remaining construction material samples,
    acquired after Treatment System application, further confirm and validate Treatment
    success.

     Numerous so called ... Scientific ... groups, individuals, and companies have promoted
     XRF Technology to identify, confirm, and misclassified CDW or TCDW, based on ...
     Junk Science ... without confirmed and documented lab or field testing ... by assuming
     STRONTIUM was a marker for CDW or TCDW ... based on in-correct information,
     cherry picked from lab test and field documentation ... that would validate their opinion
     or finding, supporting their diagnosis, and justify the misuse of  XRF Technology for
     CDW or TCDW Analysis or Inspections for a service fee.

    Consumers, Lenders, Insurers, Lawyers, and others looking for answers, cost effective
    diagnosis methods, cost effective abatement resolutions, abatement decisions,
    purchase decisions, and legal theories based on XRF ... Junk Science ... need to
    seriously review and re-evaluate their actions, decisions, concepts, and legal theories

5)  CDW or TCDW Certifications
     Consumers now know, there are no CDW or TCDW College Degrees, College
     classes, or Certifications ... APPROVED by ASTM, OSHA, EPA, or any other accredited
     State Licensed College or Licensed Federal Educational Institution.

    Anybody or Group promoting DEFECTIVE TREATMENT CERTIFICATION, or
    DEFECTIVE TESTING CERTIFICATION classes has ... NO CREDIBILITY ... simply
    stated ... the fact they are using the term DEFECTIVE confirms their lack of knowledge,
    ASTM Standards, and expertise ...

    ASTM 1396 / C 1396M section 4.1 ... Clearly confirms and validates the gypsum or
    sheet-rock boards meet the Manufacturing Guidelines and therefore are NOT
    DEFECTIVE ... ASTM 1396  Materials and Manufacture ...  Section 4.1 states ...

   "GYPSUM BOARD SHALL CONSIST OF A NONCOMBUSTIBLE CORE, ESSENTIALLY
    GYPSUM, SURFACED WITH PAPER BONDED TO THE CORE."

    Key words ... ESSENTIALLY GYPSUM ... results in all sheet-rock, meeting the standard.

    Clearly ... this is why the CPSC, OSHA, EPA, HUD or any other Government Agency has
     NOT ... TO-DATE ... issued or demanded a ... RE-CALL ... on the product.

6)  Testing and Post Treatment Testing ... Before or After Abatement or Treatment
     Testing required per Judge Fallon's guidelines ... Fails to provide specific  testing
     means and methods, ASTM type test, specific acceptable threshold level of out-
     gassing, or even specific out-gassing element(s) or material(s) to be tested.

     Fallon's guidelines simply require a clearance letter or document from a licensed
     Hygienist or Environmental Engineer, leaving a lot for interpretation or abuse.

     We recommend and request Clearance Documents based on third party ASTM
     Chamber Testing sample construction materials, acquired after Treatment Application
     and even further ASTM Chamber Testing, samples of NEW sheet-rock material prior
     to installation, confirming out-gassing levels.

7)  Personal Property Treatment
     Treatment of personal property before relocation is important and may require re-
     treatment prior to occupancy of re-constructed structure to avoid cross-contamination.
   
     Treatment Application avoids costly disposal of numerous items, avoiding re-
     placement cost, and helping control total re-construction and re-location cost.
