To be exact, the new Grand Cherokee is 2 inches longer, 3 inches wider, and one-half inch taller than the 2010 model. Its wheelbase has increased by 5.3 inches to 114.8 inches overall, allowing more backseat legroom for passengers.

The 2011 Grand Cherokee is available in four trim levels: Laredo, Laredo X, Limited and Overland. New additional features include CommandView sunroof and SmartBeam Bi-Xenon headlamps that dim the lights when sensing oncoming traffic. Both the seven-slot grille and gigantic fenders house 17- or 18- inch aluminum wheels remain the same on the 2011 model.

The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with a powerful 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 290-horsepower and 260 pounds-feet of torque, towing up to 5,000 pounds. Buyers can also purchase an optional upgrade to a 360-horsepower, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine that has towing ability up to 7,500 pounds.

For safety features, the 2011 Cherokee include a multitude of airbags, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, traction control and an electronic stability system. Striving for safety, the new Cherokee added optional features such as a blind spot monitoring system, new Rear Cross Path detection, and collision alert to ensure driver’s safety on the road.
