New JagSeis® software introduced at SEG 2010 for Peru, Qatar projects

Oct. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- Jaguar Exploration, Inc., global leader in seismic data quality control (QC) processes, has introduced new JagSeis software that gives the E&P industry stringent and effective quality control for seismic data acquisition and its collection processes for the first time.

Jaguar President/CEO Julio M Jimeno, presenting the new system at SEG 2010 in Denver, says, “JagSeis Seismic Acquisition Management & Quality Control is the world’s first dedicated QC tool-set. We’re offering it to oil and gas exploration markets today as part of our professional operations, starting with projects in Qatar and Peru.”

Designed to provide a complete suite of interactive modules, JagSeis software includes the ability to send, receive and archive critical QC data safely and securely via the Internet. “We purposely focused on resolving the lack of uniform consultants’ procedures, which unfortunately increases collection process error rates,” Jimeno notes.

According to Jimeno, no dedicated comprehensive QC management software has existed for web-based or any other environment. Customized seismic data QC management packages are rare (or nonexistent), even at the oil company level.

Olga Narvaez, Jaguar’s vice president of software, pointed out that the JagSeis system is the right tool for a whole new level of professionalism. “Now this will be used to provide Jaguar’s own field QCs and field supervisors with the ability to maintain and view production statistics every day, throughout the timeframe of the project. At the same time, our seismic clients get what they need to review real-time project statistics and key performance indicators (KPIs).”

The JagSeis program has a Client Dashboard that displays easy-to-read visual indicators for continuous auditing of HSE issues on-site. “Access to this kind of information means better decision-making for our clients – in real time!” Narvaez said.

Jaguar is now rolling out the new JagSeis program via project-by-project implementation for its clients in Qatar, Peru and North America.
