Broken Gospel? Or, Broken Hearts?

The Lausanne conference is just finishing up in South Africa. This international gathering of evangelical Christians from all over the world has heard some surprising messages from Southern and Eastern hemisphere Christians: The Western Church--including those who consider themselves evangelical--is broken! Is this a true assessment of Northern Christianity? Or, is it an overly harsh message from people who do not live in the context of secular, pluralistic, democracies?

Carlos Madrigal of Istanbul, Turkey has sounded an alarm heard from other Christians living in Islamic countries: The west must be aware of the seduction of Islam. "There currently is an attempt to lower the bar so that all may enter the sheep pen without using the gate. The seduction that is approaching us is: an Islam that is not conceding, while the Gospel is conceding ground step by step. How long will this last?"
