Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- This is the year social scientist have been waiting for.  The year the first of the baby boomer cohort begins turning 65, at the rate of 7,000 per day!  Even though official retirement age, the age at which boomers can begin to collect full social security benefits, doesn't arrive until next year, many who were looking forward to a cushy retirement like their parents experienced are facing a new reality. The economy has changed so drastically and so fast there isn't much "cushy" left.  They have similar health concerns to their parents at age 65,  and they are finding that those health concerns are enforcing a slow-down in some life activities.  One thing is for certain:  Baby boomers don't intend to stop working and don't see their senior citizen status as an excuse to quit work. That leaves us with the question: What to do when your best laid retirement plans go sour and don't work out?

That will be the topic of discussion on the innovative Christian internet radio talk show Second Half Christians that will air Sunday November 20th at 7 PM (MOUNTAIN) at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/gregory-fisher/2011/11/21/fa....  This program, hosted by Greg and Margaret Fisher, takes direct aim at the discouragement and sense of loss that boomers may be feeling.  "Look," says Greg Fisher host of the radio show, "we are resilient people.  Instead of mourning the loss of what could have been why not plan for an even more productive second half of life?"
The Fisher's have produced nearly 100 inspirational podcasts for Baby Boomers, all available on iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/second-half-christians....

Greg and Margaret Fisher bring a wealth of experience to their Christian internet radio ministry.  They have been life partners and Christian ministry partners for nearly 47 years.  For the past 22 years they have served extensively in international ministry visiting and working in more than 35 countries.  "There is never a time when you can't stop going in wrong direction and turn around and move towards change," says the program's co-host Margaret Fisher. The Fishers have a positive message that encourages baby boomers to re-discover their purpose and destiny in life and make the second half more exciting than the first. Listeners are invited to call in on the open phone lines during the live broadcast at (646) 929-2432.
