As an emerging designer, when you’re truly on the cusp of greatness, where do you turn?  The connection seemed more than obvious.  Kristen Smith-Hilton and La’Daska Powell needed to team up.  Now, they are addressing one of the biggest issues among women; buying swimwear.  Swimwear cannot simply be generalized to one size.  That is the very reason Hilton and Powell are flourishing together.  Under the wing of Hilton, Powell’s LADASKA MECHELLE Swimwear Line is surfacing as the go-to line for women who desire a bathing suit that suits their style. and of course, their elegant taste.

Kristen combines her experience and fashion knowledge to provide image consulting to people that want the next level in fashion.  Novella Style Group, LLC is a company that allows everyone to tell their story through personal style.  According to Kristen, “Fashion is artwork you live your life in,” and Novella strives to portray their clients dreams through style.

La’Daska Powell, a graduate of the International Academy of Design and Technology, recently jumpstarted her own company; LADASKA MECHELLE.  La’Daska specializes in custom designed swimwear for women.  Each one is designed and created specifically for the client.  With a mission to innovate, La’Daska has beautifully developed her line to bring out both a sexy and sophisticated look for her clients all while focusing on the essence of each individual she works with.

After her numerous accomplishments in 2008, it made perfect sense that La’Daska could successfully operate her own company.  She was chosen, among an elite group of designers, to create a red dress for the American Heart Association.  She was also a Semifinalist in the AOL Latino Fashionista Competition.  She started her swimwear line and debuted her 2010 collection in August 2009.  Naturally, her creativity and eye for fashion landed her amazing results.  Some of her line can be viewed at her ALLURE Swimwear Fashion Show.  Now, working with Kristen Smith-Hilton, LADASKA MECHELLE is ready for its next great step in the evolution of La’Daska’s business.
