Alert Manager 2010 Expands SharePoint’s Out-of-the-Box Alerting Capabilities

Oct. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- SharePoint Solutions has released Alert Manager for SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Foundation 2010, an add-on that enhances flexibility, power and ease-of-use for customizing and managing SharePoint alerts while adding new Reminder functionality.

According to Cate, Alert Manager 2010 brings a new level of power, control and flexibility to SharePoint alert management.  It is fully integrated into SharePoint’s Central Administration console and Site Settings, so there is no separate program and interface to learn.

Alert Manager 2010 features and capabilities include:
•   Ability to manage all alerts across an entire site collection from one central location.
•   Subscribe other SharePoint users to alerts on any list, document library or document.
•   Customize alert templates with images and branding. Users have complete control over the look and content of each alert with custom alert templates.  
•   New “Reminders” feature allows users to stay abreast of upcoming events by setting and receiving reminders on tasks or events – or any list item in SharePoint with a date and time field.

For users needing to remember an important day, meeting or appointment, the new Alert Manager Reminders feature is the proverbial “string around your finger.” In addition to individuals, it can be used to remind an entire department or team about an upcoming event or deadline, as well as to post-date a memo to a team, group or company. There is no limit to the number of reminder recipients.
