The YAC (Youth Activity Center) in Sierra Madre invited local art studio, Mission: Renaissance Fine Art Classes, to participate in one of their weekly workshops introducing teens to various local resources to explore.  This fun weekly event showcases a different area of interest and provides participants an opportunity to be involved in new activities as members of the Sierra Madre Recreation Center.  Mission: Renaissance Instructors, Crystal Foth and August Bruins-Slot, recently visited YAC to provide a free art class for the program participants.  Students were invited to draw along as they were introduced to basics of sketching!  YAC was transformed into an art studio for the afternoon!  http://cityofsierramadre.com

“Without art, our children will miss out on vital creative experiences that enrich their lives.  I greatly appreciate the efforts of the City of Sierra Madre and YAC for providing the children of their community with these weekly workshops.  With school budget cuts, many children are left without art of any kind in their schools.” said Crystal Foth after the workshop.

Mission: Renaissance is the world’s largest fine art program for children and adults with more than 2,000 students attending classes each week in 18 Southern California studios.  Established in 1975, by Larry Gluck; Mission: Renaissance uses "The Gluck Method", a step by step process of instruction that can teach anyone how to draw and paint beautifully.  For more information visit: http://www.fineartclasses.com/
