Midlands automotive group expands with help of Band HattonA Coventry automotive design group has visions of a successful future after adding another dimension to its impressive portfolio.
The organisation, based in Binley, has acquired Hednesford-based AST Resourcing and AST Recruitment to diversify from the knowledge and skills already offered by the other organisations in the group – CH Recruitment, Automotive CAD Technology (ACT), Design FL and Visioneering. The addition of the new firms will allow the group to expand into the fields of defence, rail and nuclear technology as well as maintaining its established expertise in the automotive and aerospace sectors. Envisage, which already works with big name brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, JCB and Bentley, is headed by executive chairman Bryan Campbell, who previously spent over 40 years at Jaguar Land Rover. He said: “This acquisition moves us a step closer to achieving our goal of providing turnkey solutions to the global transport industry. “Traditionally manufacturers will outsource different elements of the design work, such as bringing in extra staff, CAD work, prototype production and modelling, to different organisations. “Our aim is to provide an all encompassing approach and we hope to continue our expansion and add even more companies to the group in the future.” The deal to secure AST resourcing and AST recruitment was supported by Coventry-based legal experts Band Hatton. It was the first time Band Hatton had acted for Envisage, and with more investments likely in the future, the two organisations are looking forward to working together again. “We wanted to establish a relationship with a Coventry law firm because, having dealt with London and Birmingham-based firms in the past, we realised this would be a more cost-effective approach,” Campbell added. “Band Hatton was recommended to us by one of our accountants and we were very impressed by the quality of their service. We will absolutely be looking to work with them again.” Haydn Jones, a partner at Station Square-based Band Hatton, said he was delighted at the efficient manner in which the deals had been completed.
