Over 1000 attend ‘Be Halal Exhibition’ at Glasgow Central Mosque Hall

An afternoon of halal entertainment proves to be a hit with the public

Oct. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- On Sunday 10th October, Glasgow Central Mosque Hall saw over 1000 in attendance of the first ever ‘Be Halal’ Exhibition in Scotland. The event, which showcased the best in Halal goods and services across Scotland, proved to be a huge success with 30 exhibitors and an array of entertainment on offer for the whole family including numerous children’s funfair rides and an Islamic Talent show. The winner of the X-Factor styled competition can be revealed as 11 year old Tahir Ilyas, who won himself a Lindt Chocolate Basket worth £75, as donated by exhibitors Chocolate Posies.

The event lasted all afternoon, opening from noon until 7pm. Amit Arora, Business Development Director for Organisers – Oceanic Consulting was extremely happy with the way the day progressed;

“We couldn’t have hoped for a better exhibition. I’d like to thank all of the parties involved, and in particular everyone at Glasgow Central Mosque Hall who were great hosts. With over 1000 visitors over the day, the event has proven to be a great success and we hope that we can build on this success with future ‘Be Halal’ events.”

However, Be Halal was not only about the exhibition of Halal Goods and products but also charity. With the presence of Islamic-Relief, the exhibition not only raised awareness, but also raised funds for their ongoing mission to at alleviate poverty of people across the world, regardless of race, religion and gender.

Habib Malik, spokesperson for Islamic Relief UK stated;

“We are grateful to Oceanic Consulting for choosing us as their charity Partner for ‘Be Halal’. The atmosphere at the event was very friendly and everyone enjoyed themselves. Glasgow needs more events like this for the Islamic community to raise awareness of the Halal services available to them.  The money we have raised at the exhibition will go towards helping to alleviate the suffering caused by the Pakistan floods earlier this year. We wish to thank the organisers and we hope we can be involved in ‘Be Halal’ related events in the future.”

With the first ‘Be Halal’ exhibition proving to be such a great success, organisers Oceanic Consulting will hope to build upon this in years to come, not only organising more events but anticipate the launch of an online directory as well as the launch of a bi-annual magasine.
