Bringing Munich To Milwaukee With Oktoberfest & Das Pub Crawl

Local Organizations to Host German-Themed Celebration and Pub Crawl

Oct. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- MILWAUKEE: Milwaukee’s deeply etched German heritage is the inspiration for a celebration at Pere Marquette Park this Saturday, October 9, 2010.  Pere Marquette Park will be transformed into a local Oktoberfest gala, boasting an authentic beer garden, two live bands and the highly anticipated “Das Pub Crawl”, a bar crawl hosted by the creators of the “Shamrock Stumble”.  Oktoberfest will begin at 3:30 PM with the world’s shortest parade and the tapping of the golden keg, to be followed by teams of Das Pub Crawlers visiting the 14 participating bars and completing photo challenges.  Das Pub Crawl finishes around 9:00 PM when the Oktoberfest after-party begins at Buckhead Saloon.  The festivities at Pere Marquette Park and Buckhead Saloon are open to the public; however, participants in Das Pub Crawl must be pre-registered.

With over 1,000 participants already signed up for Das Pub Crawl, the area around Pere Marquette Park and Old World Third Street will be crowded with beer maidens and men in lederhosen snapping pictures for the photo challenges.  The grand prize winner of the photo contest will receive a $25 bar tab at all 14 participating establishments of Das Pub Crawl, in addition to a voucher for one night’s stay at the Hilton Milwaukee.  Individual winners of the photo contest will receive $25 to be redeemed at select participating establishments.

Sponsors of this year’s Oktoberfest and Das Pub Crawl include Hacker-Pschorr Brewery, Red Bull, Miller Brewing Company, Hilton Hotels and Three Olives Vodka.  This event will be hosted by multiple Milwaukee-based organizations: Newaukee, Westown Association, D'Saufkameraden, Michael Sampson Events and MilwaukeeDrinks.com.  For more information on Oktoberfest and Das Pub Crawl, please visit www.DasPubCrawl.com.
