Embassy Suites Detroit-Troy/Auburn Hills Sponsors 2nd Annual Trick or Suite

Oct. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- The Embassy Suites Detroit-Troy/Auburn Hills, which is part of the nation’s leading chain of upscale all-suite hotels, has partnered once again with Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan for their 2nd Annual “Trick or Suite” event to be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 4pm-7pm.

According to Terri Lauer, Director of Sales & Marketing, children stricken with leukemia, lymphoma and related blood disorders are not able to “trick or treat” outdoors in the traditional sense. Therefore, Embassy Suites Detroit-Troy/Auburn Hills is sponsoring an indoor Halloween Trick or Treat event. This event allows CLF patients, along with siblings and family members, to collect candy and treats by going suite to suite in a safe and controlled environment. The suites, donated by the hotel, are sponsored by various companies and organizations in the local community. These sponsors are given creative freedom to decorate their suite, dress in costume, and hand out their treats.

The inaugural event in 2009 was a tremendous success due to the support of many area businesses and organizations. The CLF families and all involved had a wonderful time. Trick or Suite is an outlet for these families to spend quality time together, share some laughs and smiles, and if only for a few hours, take their minds off their battle against this life-threatening illness.”

Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF) is a statewide organization that provides information, financial assistance and emotional support to Michigan families affected by leukemia, lymphoma and related blood disorders. CLF offers a variety of services that help to meet the needs of its patients and families.

Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan was founded in Detroit in 1952 by a group of parents who had each suffered the loss of a child due to leukemia. Together, this group resolved to support other families stricken with this devastating illness.
