Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Many young writers, photographers and Graphic designers are finding the publishing industry very difficult to break into, especially with the recent economic downturns of mant top Newspapers and magazines who are no longer hiring and in some cases non existent. Graduating college students are finding that the degrees they hold for jobs such as writers, copy editors, graphic design and illustration are veryu little help in getting them employment unless they have experience as well. nationally recognized schools like Gibbs are even downsizing the classrooms and offering less graphic design courses and in some cases like Boston's Gibbs taking out graphic design options altogether. An alternative to begging for a position where you are more likely to spend time fetching coffee than learning the ins and outs of real life publishing is internships. An internship offers you the opportunity to gain experience on a flexible schedule in most cases and learn the realities of creating and marketing a publication. There are many online publications that are marketing Emags and Ebooks to the new technologies that are fast taking over the classrooms 0of America why purchase one book when for a few hundred you can digitally own up to 3500 publications with geek chic techie books like Kindle. Read Hot Stepz magazine's winter issue for an in depth report on internships and how they can help your career.
