CMLS 2010 Conference Promises Much to Talk About

Sept. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- LISLE – The CMLS 2010 Conference, hosted by Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED), kicks off this week at the Westin River North Hotel in downtown Chicago.  Representatives from North American multiple listing services will be in town to participate in the largest CMLS conference ever.  There will be plenty to talk about starting Wednesday morning with the annual Golf Outing and ending Friday night with the Closing Dinner Banquet.

One topic of great interest is “Ratings, Rankings and Recommendations.”  Following his talk titled “Out of Sight Service: Management of the Invisible,” Larry Romito of Quality Service Certification, Inc. will be moderating a discussion about the value of rating real estate agents as well as other services - such as lender services, inspection companies and other service providers in real estate transactions.  Larry has strongly advocated that the time has come for agents to be rated on the websites of real estate companies and multiple listing services, and that by providing these ratings to the consumer we would be helping to improve the public perception of the broker and agent.  

Additional perspectives will be furnished by the panelists, which include Bob Hale, CEO of the Houston Association of Realtors®; Brian Carroll, MLS and Technology Coordinator of the Peoria Area Association of Realtors®; Attorney Brian Larson from Larson/Sobotka PLLC; and Andrea Rubin, Vice President, Community Management – North America for Yelp.

Veterans of CMLS conferences will tell you the best thing about these meetings is the open and frank discussions that take place amongst the CEOs and staff from MLSs around the country, who too rarely get the opportunity or the forum to have this type of interchange.  There will be plenty to talk about this week, and it will make for another outstanding CMLS Conference.
