Transport Law Firm Takes First Again

Sept. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- The Road Transport Department of Nottingham law firm Rothera Dowson has once again been named as the East Midlands’ regional leader in the Transport category of the Legal 500, the World’s foremost guide to Law Firms.

This means that the firm’s Road Transport Department has held the East Midlands regional leader position since the category was introduced by the Legal 500 in 2008.

In the guide Anton Balkitis, the partner who heads up the firm’s 75 year-old transport department, was described simply as “excellent” and the department itself “a first-choice practice”. The guide also cited the firm’s increase in work with international hauliers and UK operator licence inquiry work as one of the reasons for its strong recommendation. Anton is also a Leading Individual in the Legal 500, which previously (in 2010) described the Department as one that "sets the benchmark nationally".

Speaking of this year's recommendation, Anton, who is regarded as one of only a handful of UK specialists in this area, said:

Anton and his expert team specialise in helping goods and passenger and ferry operators (domestic and international carriers), professional drivers and private motorists. They deal with regulatory compliance and prosecutions, including operator licensing, representing transport operator clients weekly at public inquiries. They also help preserve driving entitlements for the individual.

This pleasing result for the Road Transport Department follows its equally strong performance in the 2011 Chambers and Partners guide, which saw Anton identified as a leader in his field of expertise.
