Embrace Your Inner Freak: Author Gives Advice to Nervous Teens

Sept. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Toronto, ON- The back-to-school season brings with it a great deal of trepidation and fear for teens.  Adjusting to new schools, new changes, and new social environments can be a daunting task for any normal teen.  But author Kitty Keswick’s new young adult offering, Freaksville brings the experience to a whole new level.  
In Keswick’s Leap Books release, Freaksville’s, 16-year-old Kasey not only has to adjust to being the ‘new kid in town’, but also to her brand new supernatural powers.  But she learns to turn what she sees as a curse into a gift. “We all feel like freaks sometimes, like we don’t fit in, but the point is to take those feelings and transform them into something important,” says Keswick,  “I started writing in high school – I think it’s a great time to unearth your talents and to embrace them, just like Kasey does.”  She hopes that young readers will be able to connect with her character’s real-life experiences, if not the supernatural ones.
