| Castro Brings Some ‘New World Music’ To Blue PieCastro Brings Some ‘New World Music’ To Blue Pie
By: Blue Pie Records Castro Salha was born in Gaza City, he is the fifth of six brothers and sisters and his passionate love for music seeps from deep inside his soul. In his youth his father dreamed of becoming a violinist and his mother has a sweet singing voice. Castro believes he is a result of their talents, wishes and dreams to be involved in the world of music. He began as a singer, developing his strong and powerful voice; but deep down he always knew he wanted to be a music composer. He taught himself how to play piano so that he could bring his compositions to life. Castro believes music is a language that transcends barriers and can portray all emotions & feelings. Castro is constantly absorbing and analysing the world around him, and he writes his stories and articles using the language of music. Castro’s personality and musical talent combine to form his musical style, NEW WORLD MUSIC. It is a musical style that gathers musicians from different ethnic backgrounds, cultures, and countries, bringing together a diverse range of styles including Blues, Jazz & Gypsy. In 2009, Castro’s first album, ‘Remember Me’, was released. He has only just started, barely making a dent in his musical ideas, which means he is searching for new musicians to materialize his musical ideas. The next album will be released in December 2010. It will have new compositions & arrangements keeping his sound signature unique. In 2010 Castro signed a global distribution and publishing agreement with leading Australian indie powerhouse "Blue Pie". The first release from Castro on Blue Pie is his album "Remember Me" which is out now and available at all leading digital retailers.
