Sept. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- For the past seven years, the BEST Game Day competition has been brought to Philadelphia public middle and high school students.  Dr. Ray has regularly served as judge for this competition and in collaboration with Cheyney University alumni, Michael Johnson and Velda Morra, who is a Robotics Education Specialist with the Philadelphia School District, has engaged some University students in this STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) initiative.  Two Robots (ROV1 and ROV2) were tested for efficiency and effectiveness in the University’s pool, and the robot buoyancy testing provided and educational opportunity for students in the areas of math, science, test procedures, and experimental protocol for the robots.

The Philadelphia BEST Kick-Off event is scheduled for September 25th at Villanova University.
