Love and wish me luck. Britt

Well, where to start… I figure the beginning sounds like a great place :-) .

Flash back to the early years for us young folk and you’ll find me in the kitchen of my grandparents watching my Poppy making homemade pot stickers. This is where my love for the kitchen began!  As a youngster I always thought that my grandpa’s job was making food, I had no idea that for him it was just a passion and a job had nothing to do with it. I remember sitting there thinking, “He has the coolest job ever! Not only does he get to make it all the time! He gets to eat it too!”

My love for cooking continued through the years and slowly transformed into a love of pastry.

Fast forward almost 10 years, a husband, a baby and a few cross-country moves later to find me here! I have opted to leave my job as a third grade teacher at a local private school in Los Angeles to become a stay-at-home mom. Baking has become my outlet over the years (to my husband, family and friends demise…). It became how I got out anger, sadness, excitement, pent up energy and boredom.

One day after my husband’s billionth run to the store for extra sticks of butter to supply my latest round of impulse baking, he looks at me and says, “Honey I wouldn’t mind all the baking if it was at least tax deductible!” BRILLIANT!

A few days prior while watching a man who I am secretly in love with (Bobby Flay) on his show “Throw down” I saw 2 women who had an online brownie company. They made the brownies and shipped the to customers! Again BRILLIANT.

I loved growing up with a family that cooked, it is an important factor that I want to instill on my daughter. So here I am with a brilliant idea to do what I love with my daughter and make money doing it!

This is my story: “cookies from the ground up”, the goal: to open an online bakery

I invite you to come along for the ride! I’d love your opinions, info, thoughts and advice.

WISH ME LUCK AND STAY TUNED.
