Support our Wildlife Trust charity runners

Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- A team of intrepid Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers have signed up to take part in the Great South Run on Sunday October 24th, to kick start the Trust’s 50th Anniversary year and raise money for their conservation work.


The Great South Run follows a ten-mile course through Portsmouth and Southsea, passing some of Britain’s greatest naval heritage along the way.
The Wildlife Trust team consists of experienced runners competing alongside novices entering their first road race. Whilst it should be a fun day out, it has a serious purpose of raising money for the Wildlife Trust’s work.

Team member Jamie Marsh, Solent Reserves Officer at the Wildlife Trust, says he is looking forward to the challenge of running 10 miles and hoping to get lots of sponsorship. Aiming to run a respectable time, he is now upping his training regime.

Trust colleague Nikki Magee is running her 4th Great South Run and says although its hard getting up before work to go to the gym, it will be worth it if she can beat her personal best of 1hour 45mins.
