Fred Meyer Jewelers Announces Grand Opening Festivities For Little Rock Store

Aug. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Fred Meyer Jewelers will open its first-ever Arkansas location on Saturday, Aug. 28, a 1,306-square-foot store inside the Kroger Marketplace store at 16105 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock, touching off a month-long celebration chock full of all-encompassing events, prizes and huge savings.

The first 300 customers into the store on Aug. 28 will receive a gift bag with a $10 gift card, jewelry cleaner, a calendar and chocolates. But the perks don’t end there — as part of the grand opening festivities, there are extensive values and specials in the store all month long.

The celebration continues Monday, Sept. 6 with Hidden Gems of the City.  This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity invites residents to participate in a fun and easy celebration of the city’s iconic locations for a chance to win a fabulous one-carat “Say I Do” solitaire diamond ring, valued at $5,780, from Fred Meyer Jewelers. Continuing the month-long celebration, Little Rock residents are encouraged to comb their jewelry boxes and bring their very own hidden gems to the new store on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 10 am to 7 pm and find out what it’s worth from nationally acclaimed independent jewelry appraiser Gregory E. Sherman!  This event is part mystery, part history lesson and part treasure hunt.  Now is the perfect time to finally find out about that piece of jewelry that was handed down or maybe it’s been sitting in the bottom of the jewelry box forever.  Sherman, one of the most qualified gemologists and professional jewelry appraisers in the United States, will offer a verbal approximate value of the jewelry at no charge.  “We’ve all heard the stories of someone discovering an item of great value that they unknowingly had for years.  Who hasn’t secretly wondered if that could be you?” said Dan Farland, Director of Special Times at Fred Meyer Jewelers.  “This is a rare opportunity to bring in a piece of jewelry and find out if you’re holding a secret treasure,” he continued.  Limit one jewelry item per person on a first come first serve basis.  The “What It’s Worth” service is not a full and complete appraisal, but a verbal approximation of value.  Full and complete appraisals, which start at $75, can be scheduled during the event for a later date.  The event is open to the public.  

To give back to the Little Rock community during the grand opening, Fred Meyer Jewelers will donate five percent of sales from Sept. 10 to 12 to the community projects of the Junior League of Little Rock.
