Volvo's Most Dynamic And Sportiest Car To Date: The 2011 S60

They are not exactly known for super sporty or dynamic cars but that may all change with the introduction the all new 2011 S60. This is an edgy, athletic luxury car with gorgeous smooth lines. It’s more athletic, distinct and has more character than any previous Volvo model. Acceleration is a joy and effortless with this car and it goes from 0-60 mph in just 6.2 seconds.  Due to the Dynamic Suspension the ride is smooth and the cabin is super quiet.  Fuel economy is decent at 17mpg in the city and 26mph on the freeway.  The front seats are designed to give excellent support to the back. There is a display center on the center stack and just two dials in the instrument center. Trunk capacity is at 12 cubic feet and the rear seats fold down for additional cargo space.  

The S60 is loaded with the latest safety advances such as Side Impact Protection System  in which the strong side structure of the vehicle helps to withstand a severe side impact. Care for pedestrian safety was engineered into the structure of the car; the front is smooth clean lines and a low engine position to help minimize the impact with pedestrians and cyclists if an accident were to occur.  The steering wheel is collapsible in case of an accident in order to prevent harm to the driver. The anti-submarining feature prevents passengers from sliding under their seat belts on impact. Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the car is swerving out of the driving lane and Driver Alert Control helps to prevent collisions due to driver fatigue.  Volvo’s groundbreaking Collision Warning system with Full Auto Brake is also standard which actually detects pedestrians and brakes automatically brakes if the driver doesn’t.

In regards to options, there is a portable touch screen  navigation system available which fits into the docking unit with cool 3D graphics.  There is also a Rear Seat Entertainment System available with dual DVD players. This system consists of two LCD monitors and DVD players situated right into the headrest.
