Deep Roots Gourmet Desserts Feeds the Faithful at Minneapolis Convention Center

Aug. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- The mult-talented Ms. Rose McGee, Owner and chief baker for Deep Roots Gourmet Desserts, located in Golden Valley, Minnesota has been baking pies and cobbler since she was a child in Jackson, Tennessee. Hot on the heels of her mouth watering success, she started Deep Roots Desserts six years ago and has been offering sweet potatato pies and mango cobbler to the delight of an evergrowing cadre of fans nationwide.

Last month she recieved an exclusive invitation to provide her popular Sweet Potato Pie for the Pentecostal Worldwide Ministries Convention at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Over 3000 attendees now have the opportunity to mix soul searching with soul food.

"I'm a storyteller by trade, says Ms. Rose McGee, "but I got my start baking and telling stories in my grandmomma's kitchen. The baking was an excuse for people to get together and share stories about what had happened in the past, what was going on in the present and our hopes and dreams for the future. Baking and storytelling always went hand in hand, so starting Deep Roots Gourmet Desserts was a natural pairing for my given talents."

Last week her pies were sold at the Ordway in St. Paul during the run of the award-winning musical "Gospel at Colonus". Delicious and soulful Sweet Potatoe Pies are being sold this week at Eddie's Soulfood Buffet at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
