PRLog -- Prisa, Spanish media group, has reported a net profit of €60.88 million for the first half of 2010, which represents a sharp increase of 123.6% year on year. However, the group, that publishes El Pais and holds 15% stake in the French daily Le Monde, still posted a decrease of 6% in half year revenues to €1.577 billion from €1.678 billion. On the other hand, Prisa’s overall advertising revenues rose 9.8% driven mainly by advertising on television (+14.5%) and radio (+11.2%). Prisa media sector had a global decrease of 3.2% to €206 million. Television business revenues fell by 12.8% to €860 million, 54.5% of Prisa’a overall revenues. Digital Plus had 1.785 million subscribers at the end of the period, with ARPU standing at €42.20, up 1.6%.
Radio revenues increased by 8.1% to €197.5 million and publishing revenues rose by 7.8% to €300 million.
