Homebuilding Industry Leaders to Tour Newest Master-Planned Community in Carlsbad

July 21, 2010 - PRLog -- What’s new in homebuilding is the topic of a “Model Crawl” event for industry leaders Thursday, July 29, at The Foothills in Carlsbad, the first master-planned community in the coastal city since 2006.

With three neighborhoods now selling and nine model homes open to the public, the private Sundowner event is being presented after hours by the Sales & Marketing Council of the Building Industry Association of San Diego County.

Industry leaders are being invited to tour:  Rockrose by Brookfield Homes, the most energy-efficient new homes in San Diego; Blossom Grove by William Lyon Homes, featuring innovatively designed spaces, including spacious great rooms, inviting island kitchens and versatile indoor/outdoor spaces; and Alcéa by D.R. Horton, where value, convenience and extraordinary architecture are the highlights.

The recently opened Swim Club at The Foothills also will be included in the industry-insider tour. The residents-only recreation center includes a resort-style swimming pool, children’s pool, spa, changing rooms, equipment room, paddle tennis courts, fireplace, barbecues and tot lot. The second phase of construction will feature a park area, including a yoga exercise circle, walking trails and picnic tables. The Swim Club’s 2.6 acres are at the heart of The Foothills community.

The Foothills is the first master-planned community of new homes in Carlsbad since 2006. Featuring homes built by Brookfield Homes, D.R. Horton and William Lyon Homes, the community will have 404 homes on 157 acres upon completion.

Phase 1 of the 84 detached condominium homes at Alcéa at The Foothills by D.R. Horton are priced from the high $400,000s. Three model homes are now open featuring designer-selected interiors and professional landscaping. The two-story homes showcase Spanish or Italian-inspired architecture, where entry courtyards and front porches invite outdoor living. Brookfield Homes is now selling homes in Phase 1 at Rockrose at The Foothills. Prices range from the mid $600,000s. Brookfield is the only builder in San Diego to offer homes exceeding California’s energy efficiency standards by at least 35 percent.
