July 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Clinical Schizophrenia & Related Psychoses (CS), published by Walsh Medical Media, has been accepted for inclusion in MEDLINE, the premier bibliographic database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), following a rigorous review by the NLM’s Literature Selection Technical Review Committee.

"CS is privileged to be among the high-quality journals accepted into MEDLINE, and delighted to have been accepted so soon after our launch in April 2007," said Editor-in-Chief Dr. Peter F. Buckley (Medical College of Georgia). "Clinicians and researchers concerned with schizophrenia and related psychoses will now be better able to access and disseminate the techniques and advancements published in our journal.”

CS provides psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals with the latest research and advances in the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other severe mental illnesses. Distributed to the 23,143 highest U.S. prescribers of antipsychotic drug therapies, CS is a quarterly, practice-oriented publication focused exclusively on the newest research findings, guidelines, treatment protocols, and clinical trials relevant to patient care.

The CS Editorial Board is comprised of leading schizophrenia researchers from around the world. Board member Dr. Nancy Andreasen, Editor Emeritus of The American Journal of Psychiatry and laureate of the President’s National Medal of Science, stated: “Achieving acceptance in MEDLINE in only three years is a splendid accomplishment. It is a tribute to the quality of Peter Buckley's editorial leadership and the journal's overall peer review and publication process. In a very short time period, CS has become recognized as an important scientific resource for the clinicians and investigators who work with serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.”

“We are extremely pleased to see the important work published by CS now included in this prestigious database,” said Paul Walsh, Publisher. “Acceptance by MEDLINE is a strong endorsement for the importance of CS and a testament to the quality of the work and dedication of our entire editorial team (Dr. Buckley; Dr. Deanna Kelly, University of Maryland; Dr. Brian Kirkpatrick, Texas A&M; Karen Horn, University of Maryland).”
