![]() Victory University Approved for Masters Level Degree ProgramsVictory University (VU) has been approved by their regional accrediting organization, SACS COC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges), to offer advanced level degree programs.
By: Christy McFarland, Victory University “We are excited about the approval by SACS COC”, stated President John M. Borek, Jr. “We are committed to offering the quality academic programs and services needed by our students and this is one example of our commitment. In the near future, we will add additional advanced degrees.” The first advanced degree scheduled to be offered at VU will be the Master of Science in Professional Counseling. The program is designed to enable students to become competent professional counselors and develop entry-level clinical skills for potential employment in venues such as community agencies, private practice, hospitals, Employee Assistance Programs in businesses, counseling centers, or Christian churches. The degree program will now be submitted to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and other licensing bodies for approval. Dr. William “Bill” Chaney, Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs commented, “The need and opportunity to provide care and counseling within a Christian worldview is very important.
