Delhi kids have a week of meaningful cinema.

July 14, 2010 - PRLog -- New Delhi, July 24. Films bring flavour to our lives and it is now time for the younger lot to make some meaningful cinema and bring flavor to their own lives.
The company is all geared up to host a 10 day long children’s filmmaking programme at city's famous mall Select City Walk in the first week of August 2010

Mark 5 Films, a Mumbai-based film training organisation, will bring in its collection of award-winning movies and graphically rich animation films to the programmes curriculum.
Programme called Mom I'm in News  is targeted at the young brood of 5 to 14 year old. “Cinema is a great medium of education and we hope our students are able to take home a positive experience from this training programme. It is a great opportunity for the young people to understand the techniques of filmmaking,” says Mehul Suri programme coordinator.

Parents can register their children at the Select City walk mall for the sessions or contact directly at Mark 5 Films studios in Hauz Khas Village.

“The idea, is to engage today’s children with positive media images and inspire them to think about various issues while learning filmmaking as an art” says Divyansh Dutt of Mark 5 Films.

“Kids love to make films  we help them find their own voice through Drama, Documentary, Digital Storytelling and Animation techniques. Our programmes are designed to provide kids with a hands on experience of filmmaking. They will learn the basics of script preparation, costume and set construction, camera and sound operation, as well as computer editing techniques.” says Vikram Khattar of Mark 5 Films

According to sources the programme will be showcased at different places of the country once completed.

“In future, we plan to take the filmmakng to other cities and also to the schools” he adds.
