Stay at Home Moms are not "JUST"

Moms wear a lot of different hats and it's not easy. But, we need to remember, we are not alone.

July 14, 2010 - PRLog -- How do you handle it all? I mean really, if we are to do everything that all these studies say and spend as much time as we are supposed to on the various jobs of being a mom - we'd have to borrow time from somewhere. I've created a mini list here:

   * 168 hrs in week
   * 52.5 hrs sleeping (7.5/hrs sleep per night recommended)
   * Shopper - 1 hr grocery shopping per week (now you know that's a minimum!)
   * Bargain Hunter - 30 minutes putting coupons together/matching deals/etc.
   * Maid - 4 hrs avg time spent cleaning per week
   * Teacher - 2 hrs 20 minutes time you should read to your child (recommended)
   * Accountant - 30 min per week spent doing bills/paperwork
   * Chauffer Service - 3 hrs time spent in car for travel time
   * Personal Trainer - 3.5 hrs per week exercising (recommended)
   * Christian - 2 hrs per week spent in prayer (really should be more!)
   * Chef - 7 hrs spent per week preparing meals
   *  Launderer - 2 hrs per week spent doing laundry

Ok - well, you get my point and I'm not even half way through all the things a mom does in an average week. Oh, and that doesn't take into account all the times "LIFE" happens and throws your schedule all out of whack! So, how is a mom supposed to wear all those hats and not feel bombarded? Well, we moms need to stop saying, "I don't work, I'm JUST a stay at home mom!" Really, are you kidding me? We are not JUST a stay at home mom! We are SUPER mom! We have the ability to console a crying child in a split second turn right around to catch a child before they paint their face with markers then run right to the washer and switch that load of wash while quickly grabbing the dry load out of the dryer and folding it and putting it away. Oh, and there goes another child about to see how much can be flushed down the toilet before it overflows all while your TRYING to start dinner so you all can sit down and have a nice family meal together when hubby gets home! Oh, my goodness I'm tired just thinking about it all and that was just the last ten minutes! It really is hard work being a stay at home mom! Whether, you have 1 or 5 kids, work outside the home, work part-time, not work at all, whatever your life situation is, just know there are other moms out there going through the exact same thing you are! When you feel frustrated, remember you are not alone. We need to encourage one another and lift each other up. Have you noticed that mom of 2 struggling to make ends meet or frustrated because she had to go back to work? Well, take a minute just to let her know she is not alone. You won't believe the difference it can make in her life AND in yours! And you now what else - little Ms Susie down the street may look like she has it all together, but she has her issues too! We moms don't have to be perfect either! We just have to be human and have fun raising our children! So, quit thinking all the other moms have their act together and quit being the perfectionist - let it go! (Oh, I so felt that one in the gut! whew!) I'm a work in progress! What about you? How do you handle it?

What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay down among the young lions and reared her cubs. - Ezekiel 19:1
