Slink Proper catchy beats grabs the attention of the audience

In Minneapolis, Minnesota, back on December 18, 1987, Sona Akale came into the world.  He began  writing and rapping at the age of 10.  Back then, he named himself  Slink, “Child of Hip-Hop”.  In 2004 he cemented his status in the music industry by naming himself Slink Proper.  

Even at a young age, Slink Proper created a buzz around town.  He was real good at rhyming those lyrics to that beat.  If there was a hot tune, he created those hot lyrics.  It came to him like a revelation.  And the crowd knew it – they expected no less from him.  
Slink Proper’s newest single, “Shooting For The Stars” is off of his new mixtape, “Trilllogy”.  The meaning of this single is to reach for the stars, not allowing anything to stand in the way of inspiration.  This song was created with much focus and determination in order to reveal who Slink Proper really is.  This song has a real cool beat.  The lyrics tell you a story – something we need to listen to.  This is definitely a radio friendly song.   This song is representative to all his songs because they are put together very eloquently.  

In 2007 Slink Proper’s single, “Holla” was played on the radio by B96’s on-air personality Peter Parker.  He was also featured on the front page of the Washington County newspaper.  He released a few mixtapes and was also featured on several radio shows and online interviews.  He has performed at the biggest venues throughout the Twin cities.  He has also opened for DJ Drama in 2009.  He was also the headliner for the Twin cities Hip Hop Awards and was nominated for “Best Known Secret” and “Best Mixtape of the Year”.  

Slink Proper is currently working with A & R Select in West Hollywood, Ca. for a record deal, licensing, publishing and/or placement opportunities.
