SHABACH ENTERPRISE PREMIERS THE NEW STAGE PLAY - “JUST A FEW FEET AWAY”.

The production has been quoted as being “...a cross between the movies Crash and Six Degrees of Separation.” Inspired by the belief that we are all more connected than we think, “Just A Few Feet Away”, reveals a tangled web filled with intrigue, scandal and betrayal and gives the viewer a look inside the lives of strangers that are “intimately-entwined”.  Twelve characters, in real life depictions, twist a plot that you won’t forget.  Just A Few Feet Away: For some redemption is found, for others, crossing paths with their destiny could cost them their lives.

Shabach Enterprise is working day and night to break the mold of predictable theater storylines and create works that theater goers will appreciate.  Through this riveting series of monologues, producer, writer and director S. Denise O’Neal is an African American playwright that seeks to shift a status quo. “It is unfortunate that a viewer can literally figure out how a play will end, right after it begins. I think the theater audience has been pleading for material that is more meaningful and profound in content. In contrast to Tyler Perry, Shelly Garrett, I'm Ready Productions and other greatly successful playwrights, our stage plays seek to answer this call by presenting plots that challenge the mind.”

This is Ms. O'Neal's eighth stage play and will be performed with a diverse cast of talented actors from the Houston community. Six live performances are scheduled for July 17, 18, 24 & 25, 2010 at the newly renovated Obsidian Art Space (in the Heights) at 3522 White Oak, Houston , TX . Saturday performance - 3pm and 8pm, Sunday performance - 3pm. For Mature Audiences as some scenes contain strong language. Tickets are $20 presale and $25 at the door and go on sale July 1, 2010.
