By: Michelle Cavé The Discovery 4 campaign led to remarkable results for Land Rover. “Across all measurement criteria the campaign performed exceptionally well,” says Wunderman’s Strategic Planning Director, Christina Forsdyke, “but we are particularly proud of the sales and market share results. Across the campaign period sales objectives were exceeded by 91% and by the end of the campaign, monthly sales targets were surpassed by a massive 187%. Together with fantastic sales figures, Discovery also made considerable headway in gaining market share. At the end of 2008 Discovery held 21% of the medium premium utility segment, but with the launch it increased its year-on-year market share to 24.3%.” The ‘Demo Deals’ campaign delivered beyond expectations and demonstrated that unconventional approaches can be effective. In an exceptionally trying market, the campaign managed to ensure that Land Rover increased average sales by 8%. Over and above this, from a financial perspective the campaign delivered a return on investment of a phenomenal 641%. Debi Loftie-Eaton, Managing Director of Wunderman says, “I really want to extend a special thank you to our client, Land Rover, who has been pivotal in enabling and supporting us in making campaigns and awards such as this possible. Furthermore, I’m exceptionally proud of the work that went into these campaigns. The results speak for themselves. We are an agency that believes in creating impactful conversations and delivering return on investment for our clients and these campaigns certainly delivered.” # # # Wunderman is the original architect of response-driven marketing, an estimated trillion dollar global industry.
