June 9, 2010 - PRLog -- We have exciting news.  First, the reason we decided that the next upgrade of the DICE Linux system is called "OpenCORE", is because this name represents the open architecture features that our next release provides, and CORE stands for: Centarl Operating Redundant Exchange.  The new upgrade for the entire suite of DICE products running under the Linux OS is getting closer to a set release date.  Our database partner provided us with an enhanced tool set that completes the requirements needed to finish moving the Linux platform into becoming a fully working GUI product.  This will require just a compiler and database upgrade for any client wishing to move to the new GUI release of the Linux product.  And for those who don't want a GUI front end, it is just a matter of a system flag which will allow you to run as you have been.  We have added more resources to the project and anticipate completion of a fully working GUI system running under Linux within the next few months.  We began demonstrating this product at the ESX show in Baltimore in June of 2009.  If you are planning to attend ESX in Pittsburgh this next week, please stop by our booth to discuss this and our other software packages and services.  This product also has a fully open architecture and can replicate to a SQL database for added accessibility.  Since the product is running Linux on the servers and only replicating to a SQL database, you are fully protected from any viruses that may be in the Microsoft world.  The new GUI screens can run in any browser and are not required to have Microsoft IE, therefore, anyone who wants to run a Linux desktop to protect those pieces of equipment will have that option.

This release also has wide reaching implications on the new dealer access product.  This open architecture GUI system provides an entirely new dealer access product that is almost three times faster than the previous versions known as e*Link.  the product allows different skins and looks, allowing our clients to differentiate themselves when providing services to dealers.  The new dealer web product also runs on any wireless handheld device and supports menu trees and graphics that make the new dealer product look like a very impressive tool for dealers and end users to use.  This product also allows dealers to use browsers other than Microsoft IE, which is what many dealers have been asking for.
