DICE Corporation Asks for Your "Help Through Charity"

A tragic accident occurred to Nathan Weidner, a Bay City native, and he died at a very young age. One of Nathan's most striking traits was his ability to draw to him less fortunate children than himself, and he would help them in any way he could.

July 6, 2010 - PRLog -- As we plan a DICE staff outing to enjoy the summer with our families and team members, it’s important to remember that others out there are not able to attend baseball games, some of which aren’t even able to have a place call their work to go and support their family and strengthen their skills. DICE Corporation is known to hire local and help support our surrounding businesses through what seems a crippling economy, especially here in Michigan.

We have an opportunity here where we can give back and help our young people through the Nathan Weidner Foundation.

The NRF’s first objective is to provide college scholarships for financially challenged youth in our community - to date, they have awarded over 100 scholarships to Delta College and hope to expand to 4-year institutions. The second objective is to help abused and neglected children through funding The Nathan Weidner Children’s Advocacy Center at 715 N. Euclid Ave. The third objective is to build a home to shelter and aid neglected and abused children. If you would like to help by offering a monetary donation, and/or by assisting your special skills or services in a way that could assist monetarily, please submit to Melissa Courville, DICE Head of Marketing and Sales, before July 30th. Not sure how you can help? Contact Melissa Courville with DICE at 989-891-2951 or melissac@dicecorp.com

Everyone is welcome to a 14th annual chicken BBQ in the Veterans Park pavilion on August 1st – from 11AM – 6PM, the amount is $9/adults and children 6 & under are free. We’d like to get a DICE group together to attend, and if you are interested in coming as a team to support this local foundation, a signup sheet is available at the executive office at DICE or call 989-891-2951. With enough interest, we may be looking into getting some t-shirts made up. You can note your interest in purchasing a t-shirt for you and/or your family upon signing up.

“Nathan was always bringing home children that had parents that abused them, that were hungry, or were in some sad way in need of some kindness in their life. He brought them home with him where he knew there was kindness and a warm meal.”
– Jack Weidner, Nathan’s father
