The 45 Best Video Game Series according to the Guinness

May 25, 2010 - PRLog -- The brawl begins. Guinness World Records announced the ranking of the 50 best series of all time, who also appears in the edition of the 2010 Gamer's Edition.

The fateful list was also raised in last year's fiery criticism from every corner of the Internet because of the criteria, at least arbitrary and obscure. This year, in an attempt to bring some 'order in the top 50, the responsibility was entrusted to a sample of 13,000 people who expressed their views through an online survey.

The results, however, in this case remain curious. The top positions were not convincing but all in all perhaps fairly predictable (you ruin the suspense: Halo is first), Super Mario Bros, Call of Duty and dance company. The rest of the league, however, is home to discount titles as The Sims question marks next to what WWE Smackdown Vs RAW. Cute, ok, but the 25th place is a bit 'too generous.

Other concerns? Pro Evolution Soccer and last literally outclassed by a Saints Row any, or a Lego Batman, as adorable, could hardly find a place on the myriad of large absent, as some series snubbed by 13 thousand voters: Doom, Quake, Monkey Island, Civilization, Street Fighter, Prince of Persia ... (Recent Classics Mass Effect type or Assassin's Creed is lacking because the closing of the poll, in 2009, the sequels were not out yet). All seasoned with a hint of general positions dancers and giant salad: 4 ° Guitar Hero? Runescape 17 °? Kingdom Hearts beating Final Fantasy? What Starcraft and Diablo are so low?

The accounts will probably come back if we take the list as a ranking of popularity among average users of the Internet, rather than a value in itself - even if the title chosen by the Guinness suggest otherwise.
