Friends Found One Another In Stockholm After Forty Eight Years - Thanks To Facebook And Google

May 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Berit was visiting Istanbul in 1962 and met Askin Ozcan, at their common friend Ozalpsan's apartment. Askin left for his military service in Turkey, after a month and Berit returned to Stockholm, where she lived. They lost contact with one another.
Askin, after living in many countries, after his military service, settled in Stockholm in 1976 where he taught and wrote books in different genres, which were published in the U.S.A. and which will now be published in India also.
Berit studied in Stockholm to be a registered nurse and a midwife.  And she worked in Stockholm all her life. The two friends having lost each other's address, did not know that they were both in Stockholm.
Until recently, neither Askin nor Berit were members at Facebook. Their retirement  gave them more free time and recently both became members at Facebook.
Looking for her old friends in the Facebook, Berit came accross Askin Ozcan's name whom she had met in Istanbul forty eight years ago. Further investigating at the google,
gave Berit  Askin's  telephone number in Stockholm!  And she called him !
It was a very big surprise for Askin that his lost friend from forty eight years ago had found him. Berit was also very happy to have found an old friend after such a long time. She invited him for a dinner at her apartment and they talked for five hours, recalling the events
of the past. Their friendship will now continue after forty eight years...They couldn't decide if this reunion was a miracle or a mere coincidence, but it was indeed a most pleasant surprise.
Facebook and google are truly superb sites to find old friends, among other things.
