| Michael L. Seifert Named President Of Ecotech InstituteExperienced administrator to lead college focused on clean-energy workforce development
By: Morrison Shafroth An education industry veteran who brings more than twenty-five years of education management experience, Seifert is uniquely qualified to lead Ecotech Institute. Seifert has served in a variety of capacities in private colleges, with a notable strength in building and maintaining well-performing educational institutions. Before joining Ecotech Institute, he was president of Kaplan College in San Diego, one of the largest campuses within the organization, for nine years. In that role, he raised college performance and it was regarded as a regional resource. Under Seifert’s leadership, Ecotech expects to educate more than 15,000 people in the next 15 years. “Mike Seifert is a leader in education and we are excited to have him at the helm of Ecotech Institute as we blaze a sustainable trail in education,” said Tom Moore, President and Chief Executive Officer of Education Corporation of America. “With demand for clean energy increasing daily, renewable energy and sustainable design are two sectors that are primed for growth and workforces need to be prepared and ready.” Seifert has also held senior leadership positions across the country with ITT Technical Institute, Computer Tech, National Education Corporation, United Education & Software, and Airco Educational Services. In addition, he has a wealth of experience in the insurance industry and retail sales.
