Derby Wedding Services and Venues Directory Website is Launched

May 18, 2010 - PRLog -- When Rhys Adams proposed to Samantha Wills at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Christmas 2008, the experience Rhys had in the Wedding Business should have helped him find all the wedding services he needed.

Rhys started in 2000 doing Balloon Decorations for Weddings and Corporate Events for a local Balloon and Party Shop, and in 2004 joined forces with another former employee and started Balloonatics of Derby. When it came to Rhys and Sam planning their wedding they already knew which venue to choose as they had visited just about all of them in the Derby and Nottingham area with the Balloon Decorating.

But, Wedding Services were much harder to find “I noticed that their were plenty of national directories with 1 or 2 companies listed.” Commented Rhys “There was nothing for the local area, promoting the wedding industry in the Derby or Nottingham area.”

“I decided to try it myself and purchased a domain name, having some web site building experience I created a basic site with a submission form. It built up very well but became difficult to manage. So me and Sam put some of our wedding money into an account and decided to get it done professionally”

“We used Perfectly Simple Design in Barry, Wales. I had used Peter a few times previously for various projects, so I knew he would understand my needs and created us a fantastic website.”

“Peter spent a few weeks going over the initial design and feel of the website. I changed direction a few times, as I wanted to push the Wedding Professionals Network of which Balloonatics is a member of, as the network has offered a lot of support to both Sam and I”

“We haven’t created the website to make money, we just wanted to help local trade. Everybody gets a free listing with a weblink to their site. But if they fancy an enhanced listing then they can add galleries, twitter and facebook links and much more from only £34.99 per year)”

“The website is now live and since we turned the switch on Monday 17th May 2010 we received over 100 hits, but our main aim is to get as many local businesses as possible added to the database. We originally twittered the submission page ad within 24 hours had received over 140 entries, unfortunately only 30 of these were from the Derby or Nottingham area, but never the less it is still building nicely.”
