May 11, 2010 - PRLog -- SHARE, a nonprofit food buying club, is currently celebrating its 25th year of service. This volunteer-run organization offers a monthly selection of supermarket-quality groceries at a savings of 30-50% compared to grocery store prices. As part of SHARE’s anniversary celebrations, in June, July and August the organization will be entering members who place orders into a drawing for a number of exciting prizes.

Each time they pick up their food orders this summer, SHARE members will be invited to enter the drawing. The more months they order, the better their chances to win. Anyone can become a member of SHARE and enter the drawing by placing an order—there are no eligibility requirements or membership fees to join.

Drawing prizes include a Snapper 22” NXT Walk-Behind Mower from Briggs & Stratton, a One-Year Supply Of $25 SHARE Gift Certificates, $250 Cash from Great Lakes Produce, $100 Cash, $25 SHARE Gift Certificates (4 winners), a 3-foot Hand Carved Lawn Bear, Goodness Greeness Organic Fruit Baskets (5 winners), a Black Earth Meat Market Brat Sampler, and a Summer Outing Pack (Chairs, Small Grill, Cooler). Additional prizes will be announced as they become available, and the winners will be contacted in September.

Families who purchase food through SHARE on a consistent basis are always winners because of the amazing savings achieved through the program. For families who purchased SHARE’s BIG Value Package every month for the past six months, the savings compared to supermarket prices added up to over $138. That’s the kind of money that can make a big difference for many families, especially those who are struggling in today’s difficult economy.

For $25 plus shipping and handling in some areas, the BIG Value Package contains an assortment of frozen meats, dry and/or canned goods, and fresh fruits and vegetables. For example, in May the BIG Value Package included chicken leg quarters, mahi-mahi fish fillets, Italian meatballs, deli shaved roast beef, chicken breast strips, pork sausage links, breakfast wraps, chicken & veggies in sauce, honey & oats cereal, wide egg noodles, spaghetti sauce, a deluxe produce assortment with potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, oranges, apples, zucchini and pears, plus a surprise bonus item. In the supermarket, similar items would have cost nearly $48, making SHARE’s savings on this package over 48%.

SHARE is now accepting orders for pick-up in June. There is no complicated registration process—all families need to do is place an order. Orders can be placed through the local SHARE volunteer teams through Tuesday, June 8.

Orders can also be placed online with credit and debit cards at www.sharewi.org through Sunday, June 13. In addition, SHARE’s main office can accept orders over the phone toll-free at 800-548-2124 through Friday, June 11.
