May 7, 2010 - PRLog -- As I travel and meet with the voters of the 36th District I am finding the following concerns being consistently voiced: 1) The need to Create Jobs in California – Growing our economy; 2) Fiscal Restraint at all levels of government – Reducing the size of government; 3) Protecting our families through laws that are tough on criminals and strong support for our local heroes in the police and fire services.; 4) Supporting 21st Century learning in our public schools; and 5) preserving the agricultural heritage of California with better land and water resource management.

I can not help but see the seriousness on the faces of so many men and women, both young and old, who are truly worried about the direction Sacramento has taken our precious State. I am compelled to run for this office in order to halt the madness that has sent us over the fiscal edge and put California in danger of bankruptcy. The majority of California legislators seem to be only concerned with solidifying their political position or advancing up the political 'food chain' for personal gain. The Founders of this great land had a very different vision of what government should be.

Thomas Jefferson said, “I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts, in our labor and in our amusements. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy.”

For decades there have been concerted efforts on both the state and national levels to change America’s basic structure: to strip the legitimate citizens of the power and freedoms guaranteed by the constitution, all in the name of ‘progress”. If elected to represent the 36th Sate Senate district I will fight for a return to the common sense conservative principles which made our State (and country) one of the best in the modern world.
