In order to further increase energy efficiency in modern gas boilers, more and more installers are talking to their customers about using enhanced controls. To help ensure optimum gas boiler control combined with simplicity of operation, Ariston has gone one step further by integrating the latest control technology into the very heart of their CLAS HE and GENUS HE ‘intelligent’ gas boiler ranges.

The innovative AUTO Function (Click Here) is an intelligent temperature management system that is integral to the CLAS HE and GENUS HE ranges of gas boilers, achieving energy savings in excess of 10% when used in conjunction with additional controls. When activated via a simple button on the control panel, the AUTO Function will ensure that the gas boiler will choose the ideal temperature for the central heating circuit by increasing that of the system water, until the room reaches the set temperature. As a result, the gas boiler not only reaches the desired temperature but it does so with optimum efficiency whilst minimising thermal stress.

In order to refine the gas boiler’s output still further, the AUTO Function can also be directly linked with external controls and weather compensation devices, providing even more precise data to ensure that boiler output is matched more specifically to the individual environment. For example, if the Outdoor Sensor records that the temperature outside is mild, the gas boiler will take this into account and fire up at a lower power in order to reach the target temperature. If, after five minutes, the desired temperature has not been reached, the power will increase in small steps until this temperature is achieved.
Ariston offers a range of compatible controls that all operate to further enhance the capabilities of the gas boiler and the AUTO Function, including the Outdoor Sensor, Room Thermostat and Modulating Room Sensor. Also available is the Clima Manager modulating remote control, a BUS communication system that can be used to manage all the CLAS HE and GENUS HE functions, including adjustment of the heating and hot water temperatures, and to display information relating to any situation that may occur. Other accessories include a Programmable Room Thermostat, which is available for use in conjunction with CLAS HE to implement temperature adjustment mainly of the room in which it is installed. This device enables complete control of the heating system and is fitted with a large display that shows all the functions available for selection.
