April 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Have you ever walked down an idyllic pathway through classic Bucks County countryside while taking in the view of horses in the pasture nestled on 100 rolling acres with a spectacular stucco and fieldstone farmhouse with numerous outbuildings? Do you think you could imagine the sights and sounds calming the stress of today’s fast paced life?  If you attend the 35th Bucks County Designer House and Gardens at 1515 Sugar Bottom Road in Furlong, PA May 2 through May 30th  it could happen as you see the work of many designers, landscapers, artists and skilled craftspeople whose goal is to make you feel like you are home.

Two functional studio furniture artisans who are skilled and gifted craftsmen Tony Williams, www.atwilliamsart.com, and Glen G. Guarino, www.guarinofurnituredesigns.com, look forward to meeting visitors to the Bucks County Designer House and Gardens on May 21st at 1:00 p.m.  Tony and Glen are once again teaming up to discuss “The Art of Wood” during a seminar which is included with admission to the designer house.

Their unique collaboration and friendship is reflected as they discuss how an artisan whose medium is exotic wood as a paint pallet takes your vision or your designer’s to create a piece so uniquely you that it beckons one to stretch their fingers to lightly touch the contours of the studio furniture or other items before them every time you pass by.  Tony Williams and Glen G. Guarino are excited to discuss how art can be both functional, beautiful and one of a kind.

Tony and Glen have both been included in a 2009 publication Studio Furniture:  Today’s Leading Woodworkers by Tina Skinner of Schiffer Publications as 2 of 60 wood artisans to watch.  So, if you happen to have the book – bring it as they will gladly sign it for you!  Tony Williams (3/11) and Glen G. Guarino (2/23) had exclusive interviews by Chris Wakefield’s Into the Night 1470 KHND radio show.  Earlier this year Glen had a solo exhibit at the New Jersey School of Architecture Gallery on the campus of New Jersey Institute of Technology.  Tony’s 2010 calendar includes two major prestigious events:  Visiting Artist at Large at the Harbour View Gallery, Cape Coral, FL for the month of June & solo event at the Piedmont Arts Center, Martinsville, VA at the end of the year.

The Bucks County Designer House is not too far from either Tony or Glen.  Tony Williams’ studio is in Souderton, PA while Glen G. Guarino’s studio is in Cedar Grove, NJ.  Both gentlemen exemplify the rich deep traditions of Bucks County artists.

Tony Williams and Glen G. Guarino are artisans asking you to join them with your questions for their fun, interactive The Art of Wood seminar as they add a wonderful perspective to this year’s Bucks County Designer House and Gardens, boutiques, and café Monday through Wednesday 10-4, Thursday and Friday 10-7, Saturday 10-4, Sunday 12-6.  Information and tickets for house tours as well as many accompanying events, complimentary seminars, fashions shows and teas, may be obtained by visiting www.BucksCountyDesignerHouse.org  to sign up for the events or seminars and order tickets in advance or by calling 215-345-2191 for your ideal day touring the Bucks County
countryside.
