April 16, 2010 - PRLog -- April is National Stress Awareness Month, and project managers are celebrating. The deadlines, demands, and occasional disappointments of project work-life make project management an extremely stressful job.

"Particularly after a year like 2009, many project managers are feeling under tremendous pressure. Although the economy seems to be improving, many companies have been slow to begin hiring again, and many are still setting conservative project budgets in 2010," said Alex S. Brown, PMP IPMA-C, President of Real-Life Projects, Inc.

"I think all project managers deserve a break," said Mr. Brown. "To celebrate National Stress Awareness Month, my company is announcing a new partnership with HeartMath® LLC, a leading company in the area of stress management."

Real-Life Projects, Inc. has become an authorized reseller of HeartMath products, including the emWave Personal Stress Reliever® (PSR) and emWave® Desktop products. The company will also be offering a series of web-based seminars about stress management for project managers in April.

"Project managers are constantly seeking new data and information to help track their projects. HeartMath and its emWave products help give people quantitative information about their reactions to stressful events. I have personally found their products to be extremely helpful in reducing the negative effects of stress in my life, and I cannot wait to introduce them to the project management community," said Mr. Brown.

emWave Desktop is based on 18 years of research on the relationship between stress and emotions. Research has shown that the heart is a key component of the emotional system and it not only responds to emotion, the signals generated by its rhythmic activity actually play a major role in determining the quality of our emotional experiences.

Catherine Calarco, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HeartMath LLC, says, “Our emWave technologies are helping to change lives for the better. They help people reduce the negative effects of stress, allowing them to experience greater health, increased energy, and improved emotional balance and mental clarity.”

HeartMath research has demonstrated that different emotional states create different patterns of heart rhythm activity. The various emotions we experience have distinct effects on cognitive and emotional function. When we’re stressed and feeling negative emotions, the heart rhythm pattern is erratic and disordered. This inhibits higher cognitive functions, limiting our ability to think clearly, remember, learn, reason and make effective decisions. Conversely, when we learn to consciously generate increased heart rhythm coherence through feeling and sustaining positive emotions, it not only benefits the entire body, but also profoundly affects how we perceive, think, feel and perform.

Real-Life Projects is offering HeartMath products for sale through its web site at www.rlprj.com immediately, and has three live web seminars scheduled for April 21 to 27. All three events will be eligible for Project Management Institute (PMI) Professional Development Units (PDUs) for PMI credential-holders. Real-Life Projects is a PMI Registered Education Provider.
