April 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Federal stimulus will become available to medical practices in 2011. The Federal Government took over certification and released the requirements on December 30, 2009.
Medical practices will need to demonstrate "meaningful use" and receive Medicare reimbursements of $24,000 or greater per doctor in 2011 in order to be eligible to receive the full stimulus reimbursement. The payout is over a 5 year period, beginning the first year the medical practice demonstrates "meaningful use".  

Storing patient paper records can be costly. From a records management and maintenance point of view, the resources needed to maintain, file, store, and index patient files add up quickly.
