Macon Chapter of the Links and LifeLink of Georgia Celebrates Donate Life Month

April 10, 2010 - PRLog -- MACON, GEORGIA (March 30, 2010) – On Saturday, April 24, 2010, The Macon Chapter of the Links, Incorporated and LifeLink of Georgia will presents a free “Gift of Life Concert” featuring gospel recording artist James Bignon and the Deliverance Mass Choir. The concert will take place promptly at 6:00 P.M. at Greater Zion Hill Baptist Church, 2656 Napier Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204, where Reverend Walter L. Glover, Jr. is pastor.

James Bignon and the Deliverance Mass Choir are best known for their Grammy/Stellar Nominated and Billboard Gospel hit recordings of “God Is Great”, “On The Other Side of Through”, “What a Mighty God We Serve” and “He Made The Difference in My Life”. Over the past three years they have toured throughout the State of Georgia partnering with Clergy members to dispel the myth surrounding organ and tissue donations.    

The “Gift of Life Gospel Concert” is the brainchild of keynote speaker Bobby Howard, a kidney transplant recipient, former NFL team member for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Multicultural Education Manager for the LifeLink of Georgia Foundation.  

Each year during the month of April the nation observes National Donate Life Month, a time to recognize those who have selflessly made organ, tissue and eye donations.  During this time Lifelink of Georgia, the local organ procurement organization, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the transplant community honor their decision to donate.
