Marine Biology North Carolina Hosts Permanent Innovation Workshop

April 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Wilmington, North Carolina, April 9, 2010 -- Marine Biology North Carolina, MARBIONC, and the Center for Marine Science at the University of North Carolina Wilmington are presenting a one-day workshop on the theme of "Permanent Innovation" on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the UNCW Center for Marine Science Auditorium.

This workshop will be lead by Langdon Morris, a founding partner of the consulting firm of InnovationLabs LLC and author of the book Permanent Innovation on which the workshop is based.

The workshop will introduce the principles of Permanent Innovation to the North Carolina community of universities, government agencies, and business leaders, helping to promote an effective regional innovation movement.  The broader intent of this project is to enable the North Carolina marine biology community to improve its performance as a leading source of innovation in support of academic vitality and economic development throughout the state.  The workshop will also help the participants develop shared context, language, and innovation tools to accelerate their efforts to shift North Carolina's economy away from reliance on tobacco and manufacturing, and toward key knowledge-related activities for the 21st century.
