Participation in the recycling program involves enrolling (to receive free fliers, posters, and free shipping labels), collecting used electronics, and sending them to CFK. Participants receive a monthly check for items sent the previous month, and anyone who wants to recycle is welcome to take part. CFK currently partners with schools, non-profit organizations, and businesses to recycle used electronics, and has helped raise over $13 million for organizations since 1999. Schools, scouting troops, churches, sports teams, and animal shelters are among CFK's most popular recyclers. Groups of any size can participate. CFK offers tailored marketing materials that can be adapted for any group (i.e. fliers, collection ideas, prizes, etc.) CFK is also encouraging participants to hold a Spring Recycling Collection Drive. In honor of Earth Day, CFK will award a $50 bonus check to any participant that is able to collect 100 cell phones or $200 worth of items in a 6 week time period.
